Magic Scissors Hair & Spa Website - Live

Have a look at Magic Scissors’ website live. Feel free to click the links and access the website as though you’re there. Take note, every animation was custom built for this company and their products. The images were personally retouched, resized, and optimized for performance and appearance.

Check out the “Services” page for pricing and communication options. Notice that there’s live google maps and 3D virtual tour integration right on the website. Your customers will be able to see the most important information about using your services before they even get to your website, but once they get there, there’s much more in store for them. This website is now a destination for the business to communicate with its existing and prospective clientele.

On the back end, we are able to analyze which content is drawing attention and impressions, as well as the content that is underperforming. This allows us to continually improve the website, driving more visitors every day and bringing new business to the salon.

Logo and Brand Design

Step one was to create the new look for Magic Scissors Hair & Spa, that had been in business for the past 44 years and was moving to a new location. They wanted to mark the new era of their business with clean, clear branding so their new and existing customers could instantly recognize them. We wanted to steer clear of the cliché hair salon logos involving hair or scissors or what people typically associate with hair salons. Instead, we wanted to create a clear and clean letter mark that would be recognizable at any scale, in any orientation, on any color palette.

Once the client and our team agreed on a logo, we created additional versions of the logo to work better in particular circumstances. In some cases, you want to have a logo that is stacked vertically to show the full size and scale of the look you’re trying to achieve; with the vertical logos, we wanted to display the full name of the business and give off that hint of magic. For the horizontal logos, we removed the “hair & spa” text and added an additional flourish. This logo works better on documents and on widescreen monitors.

 Business Cards, Branding, and Collateral

We went through a number of iterations for the new business cards, and wanted to extend the whimsical star indent through to the salon’s appointment cards. Many of their clients leave their salon with one of these in hand, so we wanted both sides of the card to be distinctive and recognizable.

In addition to creating business cards, the salon was interested in creating an online promotion for new clients to incentivize prospects to make the decision and come through their doors for the first time. We wanted to accentuate the style of the salon in the coupon and continue with brand appropriate colors and fonts to ensure a cohesive look and feel.

The coupon was designed to fit phone screens specifically so clients can bring in a screenshot without having to print anything out. Much of our focus in web design and collateral is around customer phone use, as that is the most common way your customers will interact with you online.
